(After thanking attending officials and guests.)
Before getting into the meat of my remarks, I am compelled to address some members of the House and Senate who have displayed themselves as toadies and accomplices to a gutless wonder who, in the midst of a great world tragedy, attempted to walk away with our American Government. (Boo-ooo...!) Sure – now you boo ME! But where were you when your Government was being stolen from right under your noses?
I say, “accomplices,” because, as the political body sponsoring the most reprehensible, unamerican individual who ever occupied the White House, you remained silent, when he properly was tried and handed to you for judgment. You had the opportunity, at that time, to save the country and your honor with one fell swoop, but you lacked the courage of the patriot, and succumbed to the position of weaselly, enablers. You have embarrassed yourselves among your colleagues and the citizens of this country. Whereas we have always been a democratic beacon to the world, you have managed through your failed patriotism, temporarily to have reduced us to the same level as that tin-pot dictator whom you fear.
Without apologies, I will continue now with my more formal report on the formerly shaky state of our union...
